That’s just mean. No need for that.

What if it causes some kid to wipe out on their bike, and get seriously injured?

It's not just children that ride bikes -- adults do as well and could be seriously injured if their tire blows and they crash.

or a senior citizen. Or a pregnant lady. Or a single dad. Or anybody else!

What kind of person would do this?

Deplorable!

These look like bike lanes on a shared roadway as opposed to pedestrian/cyclist path.

Headline says "path" but it's obviously a lane.

There were many many electric cable staples on Nahanton, heading west just beyond Winchester. The police officer who was there thought it was more than a coincidence. Someone is out to hurt people.

These things move and scatter, and can be stepped on by dogs or children or adults wearing sandals and cause serious puncture wounds. They may similarly be tossed up by tire treads.

No, I tend not to drive in bike lanes, but I did recently have a nail removed from one of my tires, so I could see this as a thing.

Regardless, putting nails or whatever where on bike lanes is a dick move.

Not to mention a vandalism charge if one is caught.

...and also hoping there's a malicious somethingorother charge that they can be slapped with that will cause some pain, not just a finger-shaking "now don't you do that again".
