Being a douche puppet isn't a civil rights violation.

From personal experience?

This guy was clearly a racist douchepuppet. All the whitesplaining in the world won't whitewash that.

Is there blacksplaining? Native Americasplaining?
You are so woke it hurts

But when a person puts an opinion on here and the first reply you get insinuates you are a racist and guilty of whitesplaining, it is a bit much.
It's like a debate with a 1st grader.
Now run along.

dotnews:

Sheehan is a longtime commuter rail employee. He works for Keolis, the company that operates the MBTA commuter rail.

On Tuesday, a process began to remove him from service, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

“As a local employer and a company providing a service to the public, we have absolutely no tolerance for this type of reprehensive conduct or language in or outside the workplace,” said Keolis spokesman Justin Thompson. “The matter is under investigation and we don’t comment on personnel matters.”

Sources familiar with the Keolis investigation said that Sheehan’s removal from service was the first step in his likely termination from the company.

WBUR reporter Simón Rios contributed to this report.

Is he any relation to Matthew "Big Irish" Sheehan - the suburban statie who posted a fuckload of racist bullshit before inexplicably firing on and hitting a dirtbag douchebiker last spring?

They may not be related, but it does seem like bad apples and a poison tree.

Seems like you're pretty far out on a limb here, to keep the tree metaphor going.

Guy's going viral for his own douchebaggery and you want to tie him into someone else's BS.?

Not buying it.

But it's okay to let your bias show from time to time, eh.

up

Nor a poison tree.

Seems more like two guys with a very common last name in the news months apart.

Like something a Google search might turn up....

Now run along.

But I'm not going anywhere.

But when a person puts an opinion on here and the first reply you get insinuates you are a racist and guilty of whitesplaining, it is a bit much.

Maybe don't be so eager to defend a racist if you don't want to get accused of racism?

I'm no lawyer but combining his threats, telling them that they didn't "belong" in his neighborhood and "According the BPD report, Sheehan was repeatedly yelling "F--k that [N-word]."" it may add up to a civil rights violation.

Though incredibly racist, its not a civil rights violation.

You not try that theory out in the real world.

Anon absolutely should test this theory out in the real world. He might get some sense beaten into him.

Just as your freedom to swing your fist ends where my nose begins, your freedom to say vile hateful things ends just shy of a threat of bodily harm, vandalism, or infringement of my civil rights.

Freedom of speech would have been plausible if he was shouting to his imaginary friend. But he was shouting to a whole woman spewing racial comments at her saying she doesn't belong in his neighborhood shooting. That's called harassment once she asked him to back off the first time and that harassment was developed based on her skin color because clearly she wasn't shooting. Which makes it a civil rights violation. And why would anybody defend this kind of freedom of speech when it involves ridiculing other people. He screamed it is his neighborhood yet he owns no real property over there hence how he yells he is paying a mortgage, which means "his" beloved house is technically property of the bank. If he doesn't want to see African Americans in his neighborhood maybe he should get a bank loan else where and move out of network. Dorchester is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Boston and it is more than sad to see such people exist in a space where monumental history has been made by people of all race and color. Terrible.

he also threatened to damage/steal her motorcycle.

The civil rights issue happened after he was sent home and came back out and swung on a traffic sign screaming "F that N". So, if there was any question from the video encounter as to the source of his animus, he solved the question for us according to the officer's report.

I'm curious to learn if that's normal for him or if that's not his usual demeanor toward a black women parking her motor cycle.

There is no excuse for it in any possible world. None.

up

Yes FWIW people who live nearby say this behavior is typical of him.

Then the NY Times just hired some who did the same,,swinging at a stop sign is most likely disorderly conduct. They will charge him anyway but I can't see it sticking.
I say plaster his face everywhere so his neighbors, friends and coworkers know what kind of dope he is.

Why go through all the effort of building the strawman if you were just going to knock it down?

Saying racist things isn't a civil rights violation. Threatening the property of a black woman for legally parking on your street and then screaming "F *that* N" is beyond just "saying racist things".

But you either knew that or don't care, so carry on.

All you have to do is open a newspaper, turn on the TV or access the internet to see yet another apologist for racism. The field's crowded, and frankly, your game is tired and unoriginal and your participation is really not needed.

I read somewhere else that he’s an MBTA employee and has been suspended from his job. Can’t remember where I saw it though.

Who started this whole cluster by running over the poor Vietnamese guy while driving drunk smashing into parked cars before being caught by transit cops while carrying a loaded firearm works for the city. I wonder if he was suspended from his job.

NY Times has nothing to do with this post.

You meant the word prejudice not racist. Racism is prejudice + power.

Then the NY Times just hired some who did the same

Yes, according to the Dorchester Report: https://www.dotnews.com/2018/police-dorchester-man-arrested-after-racist...

"In the video, the man calls the motorcyclists “animals” and threatens them with violence if they didn’t “get out of [his] neighborhood."

Elements of a CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION

First: That alleged victim was exercising a right or privilege protected by the Constitution or laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Second: That the defendant either injured, intimidated, interfered with, oppressed or threatened the exercise or enjoyment of that legally protected right by alleged victim, or attempted to do so

Third: That the defendant did so by using force or by threatening to use force; and

Fourth: That the defendant did so wilfully

A ROAD RAGE incident, complete with mean spirited smack talk. Just wow. If I had a dollar for everytime in my life someone has screamed atme homophobic, racist mean spirited words.

up
Voting closed 0

This wasn't road rage.

Mr. Sheehan lives on Adams Street and appears to have been outside due to the collision that ended the earlier chase at his building's doorstep. Adams Street was closed at Beaumont due to the collision and as a result the woman and her friend were diverted onto Chelmsford St (I assume while trying to head north on Adams). They parked and were discussing how to get off the side street and how to get north of the closure (which seems like it'd be a nightmare based on my looking at a map of that area) when Mr. Sheehan approached them on Chelmsford to start yelling at them which is where the video picks up.

He was gawking at the police activity, didn't like seeing two black people on motorcycles turn into Chelmsford and park, and started hyperventilating. This wasn't road rage, it was bigot rage.

And he wasn't defensively venting adrenaline like in a close call on the road by calling them animals and the N-word (which still isn't acceptable). He was quite clearly telling them that he didn't want them in his neighborhood because he didn't think they lived there and he didn't want them bringing "their" "other stuff" near his house. He was blowing his dog whistle as loud as he could and even slipped and started saying what he really felt. When the cop made him leave, the gloves were off and he decided he needed to just say exactly what his racist mind wanted to get off his chest at the time.

And all they did was follow the detour they were sent on because of the recent collision on Adams Street.

Probably getting canned.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

"Guy works on commuter rail for Keolis."

it's amazing that such a vital service (public transportation) for our region employs so many meatheads.

with all the talent in our region, you would think the industry would be able to hire smarter people.
