Alleged knife-carrying pot dealer smacked man with a gun downtown, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he smacked another man in the head with a silver gun on Winter Street in Downtown Crossing around 8 p.m. yesterday.

Police say they found Adelson Lovensky, 20, around the corner in front of the Tremont Street Burger King, around 10:20 p.m.

In addition to a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Lovensky was also charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of a Class D drug for the knife and more than one ounce of marijuana police say they found on him.

Innocent, etc.

It makes it seem that a guy showed up to a gunfight with a knife and decided, "screw it, I'm just going to smack the guy with a gun upside the head and see where it goes from there."

Still, happy no one got stabby or shooty in the confrontation.

Or, at least, you don't practice criminal law in Massachusetts, right?

No, I'm not, either, but I know enough to know that knives with long enough blades are illegal in Boston and that pot is only legal in public when in amounts smaller than an ounce.

I’m just saying that in the 2 hours it took them to find this guy a few blocks away, he had time to stash his gun. With a halfway decent attorney he’ll get away with pistol whipping someone in the street.

And all of it over a “drug” we legalized 2 years ago.

That area of Tremont Street behind those seemingly permanent fences are an absolute disgrace. Walking through there and seeing the look on peoples faces that are just trying to walk by without being asked to by dope or having to listen to the cretins language... what a shame it is so atrocious.
