Man stabbed in Cambridge; search for suspect underway

Update: Suspect arrested.

Cambridge Police report they are looking for Russell Giachetto, 51, for a stabbing in the area of Thorndike and Sciarappa streets that sent a man to the hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

Police initially swarmed the area around 6 p.m. after receiving reports Giachetto might be holed up in a building there. However, after they made their way inside, they did not find him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts can call Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.

While looking for Russell the cops entered other residents in the builings apartments and trashed it flipped furniture broke tv and other items. How is that ok in any sense to go into law abiding residents house and trash it I understand going in and looking for Russell in all the other 3 apartments but what they did was not necessary

They were looking for a suspect who apparently has a long record and who they thought might have been armed. I think you need to cut them some slack. I'm sure they'll replace the TV.
