Ciommo to face familiar opponent in Allston/Brighton council race

Brandon Bowser

Brandon Bowser announced today he is running this fall for the District 9 (Allston/Brighton) city-council seat now held by Mark Ciommo.

Ciommo defeated Bowser in 2017 to retain the seat.

Bowser, an educator at the Edison School, says he is running because:

I believe we have an incredible opportunity to build a campaign that bridges the past, present, and future of Allston-Brighton. Our campaign will build coalitions across neighborhood lines to advocate for equitable workforce housing, developing homes that we can all afford, and multi-modal transit solutions that fit every budget and lifestyle.

Together, we will build a community where neighbors develop neighborhoods. We will fight for transportation infrastructure that reflects the diverse needs and lifestyles of our residents. We will stand by our students, teachers, and Boston Public Schools to ensure that they are properly equipped to provide each and every student with a quality education.

I will work with renters. I will work with homeowners. I will work with service workers, tradespeople, lifelong residents, artists, students of all ages, and anyone who wants to be part of this community.

Because he thought the incumbent's name was Mario, not Mark.

That Bowser defeated Mario and now owns Nintendo America as a result.

So it's this Bowser?

There's nothing in his platform about improving quality of life in the Mushroom Kingdom or government recognition of marriages between princesses and fire-breathing turtles.

The incumbent failed hard of hearing folks, deaf folks, all folks. The incumbent failed to open up the edited on site public funded Stenographic Record of Public Meetings of Boston City Council, more complete than Minutes, more accurate than flawed produced off site inaccurate video captions.

Join journalists, artists, educators, organizers and other civic-minded folks interested in making City of Boston more transparent.

I hope you beat him, there are a lot that needs to be done in my home town that Mark has not addressed. He needs to move on. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that grew up with the guy and that's the only reason he wins. Please get out there and make your name known to Brighton Allston people. We could use change. Good luck!

He is more organized than last time and gets in touch with the BTU early on for an endorsement. Being that he is an educator and BTU he ought to be able to win their endorsement if he presents his campaign to them in a strong and organized manner.

I think there at least three folks running and that's a good thing.
Develops are out of control here building "luxury" crap we can't afford and no one in city seems to give a damn as long as devs line the politicians' pockets.
