Kidnapping suspect arrested after car chase in Delaware; victim's body found in trunk

Boston Police report Louis D. Coleman III of Providence has been taken into custody in Delaware this afternoon. Police said a body was recovered in the trunk of his red car but said they were awaiting confirmation of the victim's ID. WFXT, however, reports Jassy Correia's brother says the body is his sister's.

Correia, 23 and a Dorchester resident, was last seen leaving Venu on Warrenton Street in the Theater District early Sunday morning and then getting into a car several blocks away, at Herald and Tremont streets, with a man police say was Coleman.

Delaware Online reports Coleman, driving a red car, was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. in Stanton, DE, following a chase on I-95.

WPRI in Providence reports police have video showing Coleman carrying Correia into his Providence condo building, then leaving later with two suitcases.

Leave women the (expletive) alone.

This guy had a very lucrative job, an education, and still he ended up in another state with a body in the trunk.

Just goes to show that toxic masculinity is a poison of privilege, not something combined to the unwashed classes.

Nice way to generalize to make an unnecessary point.

However, just because someone has a good job and education, does not mean he's not mentally ill. There's tons of people among us that would snap in a heartbeat and kill someone. Not kidding. It doesn't take much for some people to snap sometimes, especially if they are stressed out or have other environmental variables.

Doesn't excuse what he did, but don't make a general "modern" assumption because it fits your narrative, there's always more than meets the eye when it comes to this stuff.

- gendered violence; if we could get some stats on the gender discrepancy on kidnappings/murders that'd be useful, but dont turn blind eye to "unnecessary points" when you actually provided more generalized comments then they did (they're just 'snapping', they're just 'mentally ill'). we need words to describe phenomena, and 'mental illness'/'snapping' aren't narrow enough when we have better metrics

- claiming its "just a narrative" is a form of denial, we should work together to seek a conclusion. we both think this is bad, let's work together to get there. your comment comes off as intellectually dishonest and shuts down efforts to get to a desirable conclusion

It makes you think this must be this guy's first time at this. How the fuck does he come to do this? At what point of the night did this go from a night at the club to a multi-state crime spree with a dead body in the trunk?

I don't get it.

I wish we still had the death penalty when identification of the perpetrator is iron clad. I wonder if this is this POS's first time doing this.

Democracy and Bill of Rights and Due Process and the presumption of innocence and all that stuff you apparently slept through in class.

Stuff that those not born here are required to know in order to be citizens. Maybe we should test everyone?

Original intent, too ... because our founders knew all about fools like you.

By your putrid thinking, why is your son still alive? Whether or not he was found guilty, isn't just being accused of a crime enough in your book?

This man is like so many others out there. Young, smart, wealthy, and no respect for women.

It should be noted, you should not leave a late-night establishment impaired and alone. Not sure what happened here.

Bless her and her baby.

Don't blame the victim.

Friends need to watch out for the people in their group. Having said that, don't people routinely meet someone at a club and choose to go home with them? I presume that's what happened here. (This is just a general, hypothetical comment. I am not at all trying to assign blame to anyone in this specific case.)

Women should be able to go out, get drunk, wear whatever they want, and NOT.GET.KILLED.

Everyone should be able to not be murdered, from all women to anyone hanging around Aaron Hernandez. You and I probably also agree that women should be able to cross the street without being run over but's it's still recommended they look for oncoming traffic before doing so. There's no dishonor in being precautious and identifying situations that tend to result in danger and there's no shame in there being a reminder that some situations are more dangerous than others and to proceed accordingly.

This is not in response to anything about this particular incident at all. It's solely in response to the notion that because something should be so, there doesn't need to be any additional personal responsibility to keep oneself, or someone else, safe when encountering a situation with a heightened level of danger.

Toxic masculinity is a huge problem that infects way too many aspects of the society we're trying to build together and it should be vigilantly exposed, resisted and rejected. You and I probably agree about that too. Just be careful out until we achieve the dream is all.

...good going, Delaware State Police! Nice job apprehending this dirtbag. It won't bring Jassy Correia back but it's good to know her alleged killer will face justice.
