Layoffs at local newsradio station

Scott Fybush reports several people were let go at WBZ Newsradio, including anchor Josh Binswanger as well as weekend hosts Dean Johnson and Marissa DeFranco - whom the station is so far replacing with Larry Glick reruns.

Forward into the past, as they used to say on Firesign Theatre.

Please!

If I want reruns I can watch my old people/retro channels on over the air TV.

I've gotten into the (bad) habit of checking weather on this station, which runs every 10 minutes.

Gawd's Holy Trousers.... The "news" content is like Samuel Becket met Monty Python. Endless non-sequitur wrapped around totally vapid (think cute puppy news) puff pieces. The occasional house fire reporting, and erectile dysfunction and get rich quick ads every 90 seconds, to break things up.

It used to be a proud, local station. what your parents had on in the kitchen 7x24; where you'd go for local news in a local voice. Now it's just the spewing end of a national sewer pipe.

Hey, WBZ, you're dead! Have the decency to lie down.

That's desperation.

Alexa, say good bye to WBZ. I mean - BREAKING NEWS, Alexa, say good bye to WBZ.

Remember they got rid of Bruce Stevens not too long ago (I liked him).

Dean Johnson was excellent, they are fools to let him go.

Marissa, she was a little too opinionated and abrasive for my taste.

Josh Binswanger was a sweetheart, very professional.

Bradley and Dan have been extra polite to callers lately, especially the females, lol. I wonder why.

I like Morgan, but I preferred the rotating 3 and appreciated the different styles.

More changes are coming...

Oh, and on Sunday from 9p to 12a nothing but old reruns?

Not everyone is interested in nostalgia. Boring!

Glad she was cut, she was absolutely vile.

Does Larry Glick's estate get paid for his work? If not, I see a tread coming. "All the dead. All the time."
