Man charged with Mildred Hailey shooting in December

Boston Police report arresting a Roslindale man on charges he shot somebody on Heath Street at the Mildred Hailey Apartments around 10 p.m. on Dec. 1.

Police say gang-member officers arrested Willie Barnes, 20, around 11 a.m. yesterday at 504 Dudley St. in Roxbury on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm (second and subsequent offense), unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm. He was also charged as a level-1 armed career criminal, which could mean a longer sentence if he's convicted of the other offenses.

Police add that officers with a search warrant found "a loaded .45 caliber Ruger SR45 with obliterated serial number and a large capacity drum-style feeding device along with evidence related to the shooting" at Barnes's residence on Metropolitan Avenue in Roslindale.

The victim in the Dec. 1 incident was shot in the arm. A car was also hit by gunfire.

Innocent, etc.

Attempted murder, illegal possession (2nd offense), firearm with obliterated serial number, large capacity drum style feeding device,.....THIS is the real menace to Boston.

And be prepared to see this loser back on the streets in Rozzie in no time.

The only way he will get serious time is after the next time, or the NEXT time - when he actually kills a person.

THEN - everyone will offer thoughts & prayers and wonder how this could happen - before blaming legal gun owners for all of the gun violence in our country.

and the beat goes on.

That the DA doesn't just work by herself in some little closet downtown, that there are, in fact, dozens of assistant district attorneys at work every day in courthouses across Suffolk County and that it is possible for an elected official to deal with broader policy issues while leaving prosecution of crimes to the people under her, right?

ADA's work under the DA - that's sort of how it works.

you do realize how a chain of command - and a hierarchy of divisions, companies work, right?

Rollins has already said she is "directing her staff to notify her about ICE officials in the court". etc.

She is the boss, and she directs the behavior/practices of the ADAs - and she has said so many times.

She should be focusing on drug, gun, and other violent crimes in Suffolk County - and give all of the virtue-signaling a rest.
