Geese aren't really that stupid

Coyote at Dedham Mall

Chris Ferry snapped a plastic Wile E today at the Dedham Mall, which really is sick of geese, but which may not realize the decoy will only work for a few days and then the geese were realize it never moves and ignore it.

I love the "please do not feed the geese" sign on a large swath of grass, their natural primary source of food even if humans don't supply them with any additional snacks.

Perhaps they will move it every few days so the birds forget. That's what they do at UMass Boston and it seems to work.

Get those guys who make the creepy robot dog things on the case. This could be a good market niche for them - and robo coyotes won't care that geese pinch like mofos, either.
