Paul Friedmann took in a baseball game between the Boston Union Vintage Base Ball Club and the Providence Grays at Fallon Field in Roslindale yesterday.

Friedmann watched their first match, played according to 1884 rules - in which none of the fielders, save the catcher, wears a glove. After they were done, the were scheduled to play a game based on 1864 rules.

If you're looking for more, I know about a game played in August up in Newbury, during the Fiber Revival at the Spencer Peirce Little Farm:

Vintage Baseball:
11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Lynn Live Oaks vs. Portsmouth Rockinghams
Lowell BBC vs. Neshanock Base Ball Club of Flemington

Stay for the Vintage Base Ball Fiber Revival Cup, a triple-header with the coveted gold yarn trophy at stake! Cheer on your favorite team as the Lynn Live Oaks play the Portsmouth Rockinghams and the Lowell BBC takes on out-of-towners Neshanock Base Ball Club of Flemington. These teams take the field playing with 1860s rules. Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Grass field seating: bring blankets and lawn chairs. No reserved seating. In partnership with the Newburyport Spinners Guild, the Essex Base Ball Association, and Ipswich Ale Brewery.

Please call 978-462-2634 for more information or buy tickets online at http://shop.historicnewengland.org/SPL-FIBER-MTX-ADLT-7789/

There's probably other games during the summer, but this is one I'm definitely aware of.
