The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
By adamg on Tue, 06/25/2019 - 8:11pm
An underground artist left a message in the grime of what used to be the white wall of an Orange Line train that sighed to one more stop at the end of the line at Forest Hills.

Concert hall(s)!
:)
But that has more than four letters!
(yes, I know, different song)
Hmmm
Can someone print this up as a T-shirt and distribute them to Gov. Baker and about 90% of the state legislature?
How about a T-shirt labeled "Prophet Deval"?
Patrick nailed what would happen if Mass Transportation reverted back to its old cronyism days. The Gov rejected Pollack each time she applied for the secretary position under him, stating she would focus all of her attention on CLF projects and forget about everything else. Look at where we are today. Prophet Deval.
...and echos with the sound of derailments
...
Inconvenience, my old friend,
apologies from you again.
Disturbing!

Well
It is what they are doing.
Baker is a woefully inadequate governor
If you want to fix something, you put someone in charge and give him or her the budget he or she needs to get the job done.
If you want to look like you're fixing something without actually doing the work, you hire a committee.
House Speaker Robert DeLeo deserves a lot of the blame, too. He's nothing but a self-serving careerist.
But he has good hair.
But he has good hair.
Do tell
If you were elected governor in 2016, how would you have gotten the 40 year old Orange Line cars replaced by now?
Let's not forget that Governor Good Hair
Did not walk into this problem in 2016. He screwed the Tin the 90s by saddling it with the debt from the bigdig.
Why isn't anyone talking about that??
Baker was elected in 2014
...and DeLeo has been Speaker since 2009. There's no excuses for these clowns.
So, your subject should be
DeLeo is a woefully inadequate Speaker.
But assuming you won’t change your subject, what could Baker have done when he took office that would have lead to all of the Orange Line trains being replaced by now?
Maybe not piled billions of
Maybe not piled billions of debt on the MBTA in the 1990s?
Oh so that's the only problem with the MBTA?
Just the late delivery of the orange line cars? Good news then, should be fixed by mid-summer!
Artist? Now that's an
Artist? Now that's an interesting characterization.
Dual lyrics
I spent my insomnia time last night trying in vain to place the lyric, something I've heard maybe 500 times? Still couldn't get it. I knew the next part was something like, " ... concert halls!"
For those of you too young, it's a lyric from the Simon & Garfunkel song, "Sound of Silence" and is also a lyric (slight change) in the Rush song, "The Spirit of Radio".
Simon & Garfunkel: "For the words of the prophets were written on the subway walls, and tenement halls... and echo with the sound of silence."
Rush: "For the words of the prophets are written on the studio wall, and concert halls.... and echo with the sound... of salesmen."
slight correction
The Rush version is: "For the words of the profits".
