Only in this city do things like this often happen. Slob culture

Unless you're seriously saying that no other city on earth ever, no, never, has three-car crashes.

Ever?

Have you not seen the shenanigans that happen in Southern California on a weekly basis? High-speed pursuits of cars/trucks/RVs/even cyclists and the pileups that follow?

I'm thinking the taxi is making the left turn from Comm Ave. in bound, the pickup is coming down the carriage lane and some either running the stop sign (traffic light!*), going too fast or a combination of that with trying to get across the 3 lanes where the carriage lane kinda merges into Comm Ave outbound.

The blue car was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, guessing just collateral damage from the other two cars colliding. Oh well, what ever could we do about it?

That intersection is huge and nobody gives a fuck on that part of Comm Ave.

That's how that happens.

Hi, neighbor!

Yeah me and gf do lots of walks around Brighton, actually just meandered through here maybe a week or so ago?

Love walking around Brighton, wish we had a police force or something to keep us safe!

D-14 has to be one of the quietest precincts unless something is popping off in Allston.

I'm amazed they can't do more traffic work.

Actually, right around here is one of the only places I've ever seen Boston Police doing a speed trap. Of course, on an outer stretch of Comm Ave where bike and pedestrian traffic is light.

This stretch is extremely dangerous due to speeding cars and poor visibility at intersections. D-14 did set up some enforcement after residents complained via 311. If you want more enforcement or safer roadways, continue to advocate with the city.

Does the carriage lane have stop signs down there? By the Harvard/Comm intersection it's a free for all unless there's a traffic light.

But its pretty hard to see in the picture.

The intersection of Huntington Ave and Exeter Street is screwy this way. There is an access road for the buildings opposite the Westin on Huntington that ends at Exeter. All of Huntington has green at once, meaning those in the right lane of Huntington proper stay right, while the access road merges with Huntington, again, all with greens. It can get messy for the access road folk.

You know the area better than me, but my bet is that the truck and cab were heading in the same direction, at least to start. Either the cab tried to take a right or the truck merged thinking he could without any problem (except there was.) But again, this is quarterbacking while listening on the radio.

I think that light further to the right is for carriage way, I was just thinking that too about Huntington/Exeter, is almost exactly the same, both lights green too.

Now I'm wondering if they were traveling tandem in the same direction, cab makes right and boom. Makes a lot more sense because they can't come perpendicular to Comm from Kinross, its a one way. The left could happen but its not an easy turn with oncoming traffic.

Speed was probably a factor.

Maybe the car should have been wearing some sort of high viz vest. Red is a difficult color to see.
