Convicted sex offender tries to rape one woman at Northeastern, exposes self to another on the Orange Line, police say

Colson Kennedy

A man convicted of indecent assault and battery last year was arrested for two July 18 incidents, one involving an attempted rape at Northeastern and the other an exposure on an Orange Line train.

WBZ reports Kennedy Colson, 29, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment on the two charges.

Colson was convicted on May 9, 2018 on a charge of indecent assault and battery, according to records at the Massachusetts Sexual Offender Registry Board. He is currently listed as being "in violation" of the law that requires Level 3 sex offenders to register with their local police department.

According to WBZ, Kennedy "exposed himself and pushed [the woman] against a wall before she was able to push him away.

Transit Police report that around 3 p.m. the same day, Colson, 29, exposed himself to a woman on a train heading towards Forest Hills after she tried to ignore his "inappropriate" questions.

Police say an officer spotted him hanging around Ukraine Way and Washington Street two days later and arrested him on a charge of open and gross lewdness.

Innocent, etc.

For all the draconian penalties meant to scare the average person into obeying the law it doesn't appear those penalties are enforced against actual criminals.

This was a great job by a Transit officer who recognized him from a wanted poster several days earlier.
