If you look on the right night, you can see the Milky Way in parts of eastern Massachusetts

Milky Way from Hammond Castle in Gloucester

Rick Macomber took a look at the Milky Way from Hammond Castle in Gloucester last night.

I was surprised that it looked this good so close to Boston. There is still some light pollution on the right side of the frame from the city lights.

Similarly, when I am in my house, I can actually see parts of the house even though I'm inside it.

You should make Hammond Castle a link. Interesting place. I wonder how many know about it.

Sure, with a long-enough exposure you can. But can you see it with the naked eye? I've never seen it here in Eastern MA but in Western MA I have.
