Decapitated goat at a Hyde Park intersection

Spotted this morning at the corner of Pierce and Walter streets. Yes, the person who reported it called police and animal control - after trying to calm down her young daughter.

The city reports the goat's head was found nearby - and that a Public Works crew removed the goat parts, then used a street sweeper to clean up the street.

Last year, a woman on Garfield Avenue found a severed goat head - and a photo of herself - on her windshield.

Decapitation is generally kinder than what happens to a lot of our meat supply.

What does decapitating a goat and leaving the head on a city street in Hyde Park have to do with being a vegetarian? Maybe I'm missing something. No snark intended, just curious.

thank you for being so omniscient to let us know that this beheaded goat lived an otherwise peaceful and content life before its head was severed from its body! And here I was thinking that people who publicly behead animals to leave their heads on cars might not treat animals well before taking their lives! Tsk Tsk! Shame on me!

Just curious, because if you are, nope, I'm not a vegetarian, but an omnivore. One doesn't have to be a vegetarian to realize that decapitating any animal, including a goat, just for the hell of it, and leaving it there is also quite horrific--and vicious.

Pics can be doctored. Doctors can be picked...for pickup dodgeball games. Magoo.

That the woman was probably not thinking about that when she was trying to comfort her kids who were freaking out after seeing a decapitated goat.

The cops probably have photos, since they would need them for evidence. Stop by E18 later today. Maybe they'll let you see them.

Memory suggests there was a story a few years ago regarding a Hyde Park market that was butchering and preparing goat for some people privately. Goat is a popular meet in some cultures. The inspectional services stopped that practice because the origins of the meat in question were unknown and the facility was not licensed to handle that type of service for its customer base.

Maybe someone is handling that privately now?

Probably what some people call a "religious observance".

Lots of dead goats for God in the Bible, after all.

No comment from Tom Brady

Pretty sure there is video of Tom on Sunday in a location other than Hyde Park.

After all, it was only the (tanking) Dolphins they were playing - even a body double could've scored enough points to beat them...

Were it the actual Tom Brady in Miami, the score would have been more like Pats 226, Dolphins 0.

Da Pats!

Who throws away an entire goat and keeps the head?

Is it worth noting that this happened one block from where Hyde Park's big experiment in goatscaping went down a while back?
