Billy Joel - Piano Man (Official Video)

Every Saturday at 9 o'clock for years, Magic 106.7 has played "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. But when Molly and eeka tuned in tonight, they were playing something else! Is nothing sacred?

So what did they play in its place? They're not really sure how it went, because "I turned it off in disgust," eeka reports.

If you actually listened to up-lifting or real music, instead of the disruptive and destructive brain molecule beat of riot inviting hip-hop or rap, you would understand the bliss of letting your imagination go.

Of having an overwhelming sense of goodness and glee when YOUR favorite song came on the radio.

You would feel the essence of the the summer night as you alone or with your friends sing along to words you can understand, having no other insidious meaning.

You would enjoy the innocence of the moment and store the current memory usually in a positive way (not attainable by rap or hip-hop by the way).

You would enjoy music you can dance to and not gang sign to.

You would have hope for the future for you and your family.

You're clearly too young to know this.

TIME FOR YOU TO GROW UP!

I think you are the one who needs to grow up.

You obviously are an over-privileged millennial that only knows 3 things:

1. Mind numbing "I'll think about it tomorrow, which never comes for you";

2. What's yours is yours and what's mine is yours; and

3. It's everyone else's fault you become stupid, homeless, and uneducated, when you reach 18, because you didn't pay attention when you were growing up.

You're already a lost soul and are too ignorant to know it.

The forum equivalent of "get off my lawn and get a job". What else do you have lying around in that arsenal of condescension?

Too young to know?
I remember listening to him on the radio for the first time in 1977 and back then I thought his music sucked.
What Genre is Billy Joel anyway?
Is it Rock, contemporary Rock, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Disco, could never figure that one ☝️ out with Billy Joel.
“We didn’t start the fire” 1989 , god what the hell was that, yea, he made it up the charts with that tune in 1989 because people like you and people who were in their 30’s with no taste for music at the time, bought that album. The 19, 20, or 25 year old wasn’t into or when out and bought “we didn’t start the fire” in 1989.

You must not have been too popular with the ladies or your contemporaries back in '77. LOL!

I used to hang outside the bar he was just getting started in, when I was a little kid. It was raw but I knew he would be a star.

I was right and we'll you ...

Take care music hater.

I think his best was "Tiny Dancer," though "Rocket Man" is pretty good, too.

Did you you know he wrote several symphonies over the course of 10 years.

Just thought I would further highlight your "undiphisticated" ignorance.

You are allowed to like who you like. But he has a bunch of great songs that resonate with people. Don't be a jerk.

As stuck in his ways as Willy Loman was, he still knew Billy Joel sucks.

The piano man died of liver failure during the week.

The barman's ipod playlist will have to suffice.

iPods are as obsolete as the Piano Man song. People on this site are really showing their age.

And have to have your phone out in the open?

Or would you bring in that old iPod with your dad's car trip favorites?

I still use my 2008 iPod - I have some obscure stuff ripped from cds in that 32gig player and it does have bluetooth.

And? What, are people not allowed to age now? Maybe you should glance at a clock for sixty seconds and realize by transitive properties.... you're talking about yourself in the future.

I always find it funny when people troll out on an entertainers. Billy Joel is an amazing song writer and performer. When you reach his level of success in your field let me know. Until such time, shut the fuck up.

It's time for a moratorium on those same 15 or so songs that classic rock stations are required to play by law. Aside from "Piano Man", let's say goodbye to "Dream On", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Hotel California", "More Than a Feeling", "Don't Stop Believing" and pretty much anything by Bob Seeger. The entire history of recorded music is now available to people at their fingertips and all they want is those same 15 songs over and over ad nauseum? Expand your horizons a little.

You had to add Seger (correct spelling.) He'll be at the Garden on Thursday night for his farewell Boston performance. The guy's still got it and yes I'll listen to any of his hits anytime.
