God forbid should anyone break through but if they did, would they be in danger of drowning? I've lived here all my life and I honestly have no idea how deep the deepest part is.

Maybe 2 feet if it's full. This time of year I think they keep the level even lower. It's possible that it's completely frozen through.

Granted, I don't know how far a person would sink into the ooze on the bottom so guessing an adult might end up in to their thighs and it could take a crane to get u out of the muck!

... they used to drain it completely for winter and scour the rotting leaves away. Now they just reduce the water level. If you fell through, I doubt you’d be deeper than mid-calf.

I seem to recall, ages ago, that people did skate on the lagoon, as if that were the 'official' place to skate rather than the frog pond. But I guess not, if they drained it.
