I must be the last holdout who thinks a proposal should be a private, romantic and highly personal moment between two individuals and not a public spectacle with a sold out audience.
I worked for a credit card concierge company and people used to call us to arrange this kind of thing. Everything from having a pilot read a poem over the PA on a plane (they wouldn't), to putting it up on the New York Stock Exchange billboard (they will if you've got the dough). Even high school kids going to proms have to do this kind of thing now.

The guy rented the Coolidge and "hired" actors. Nothing about this was public.

They seemed to have a great time. More power to them. If he's that devoted they'll probably have a great marriage.

Sure beats the "traditional" way of waiting until someone's pregnant.

What I despise is anytime proposals such as this are reported, it’s always the angle that no one can ever outdo it and everyone else planning a proposal might as well give up. That’s the sense I got with the first paragraph of the linked article. Loving your partner isn’t a damn contest, stop making it one.

He has set the bar very high for romance. The wedding should be a blast.

I hate To say anything negative e about something nice when the world is so awful right now and they're not hurting anyone BUT: I am really turned off by these overblown, show offy, look-at-me engahements, weddings and gender reveals. Calm down everyone and have a little dignity
