One stabbed, one punched in face in Friend Street attack, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Cambridge man on charges he stabbed one man and punched another in the face in a closing-time fight outside 222 Friend St. early Sunday.

Police say officers arrived n scene around 1:45 a.m. to find a car surrounded by several people. Police arrested the driver, Kevin Pires, 30, and recovered a knife from the car.

Pires was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say, adding the stabbing victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

If this was a biopic this would be the part where Boston is returning to it's roots.

While I appreciate the lack of random shootings and stray bullets I hope for a return to fistfights where everyone can walk away more or less in decent shape.
