Pedestrian seriously injured in Arlington by driver who just kept on going

Arlington Police report a man was seriously injured on Massachusetts Avenue near Varnum Street when an 80-year-old driver from Cambridge hit him and then kept going towards Cambridge, around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say they were able to find the driver and have cited him for leaving the scene of a motor-vehicle crash with injuries, for which he will be arraigned at Cambridge District Court.

The victim, 48 and from the Worcester County town of Templeton, was laying in the middle of the road when first responders arrived. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries but is currently in stable condition, police say.

More lighting is needed, and the street crossing markers are so faint that you have to know they're there when driving at night. I have to warn people to be careful.

Isn't that the part of Mass Ave that was completely reworked a few years ago?

....was driving an SUV or pick up or Jeep. And or speeding.

Poor guy who was hit, I hope he survives.

Why? Getting hit by a sedan at 25 mph is pretty bad.
