Michelle Wu was told, on record, how much rent BPDA receives for Faneuil Hall. Thanks to the wonders of online video, we can all watch it on YouTube.

... you could have saved us the time spent searching for the video and posted a link. And saved us the time spent watching the video and posted the information.

I don't normally respond to any comments on my comments.

I tried using the hyperlink tool and it failed me/us. Here's the text link to copy and paste, right up to where Michelle Wu starts the conversation with Brian Golden.

Adam, is this worth linking to in the original post?

Ten bucks. A year. No escalator clause, no way, apparently to charge more. I believe it's for 99 years.

This lease was negotiated under the reign of Kevin H. White, the 'loner in love with his city' to hear it from his acolytes.

Great move, Kevin from Heaven.

That sounds like the deal for Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The question was Faneuil Hall itself, which I believe is managed directly by the city.

Late? Yes.

Only done after public pressure? Undoubtably.

But a good deed nonetheless.

$10 a year rent to the City of Boston for 99 years. It was shocking when that was first revealed at the City Council hearing during the real estate boom days.

Ashkenazy. Carpetbagger billionaires who played politics and got lucky in Beantown during an economic low point, but couldn't see their way to play fair to their tenants during a far worse downturn. How much more juice do they need from the free orange?

Our City attorney should take another hard look at this BPDA "lease."
