for these smaller restaurants that can’t hold on, but the bigger venues, bars that disguise themselves as restaurants, get zero sympathy from most.
They made a killing over the years serving 100 times more booze than food. Serving the occasional chicken wing or overpriced burger, these businesses could be closed another 2 years and not lose a dime.

are heartbreaking, and we are due for many, many more. But I had a 20-year annual tradition at this place that I will truly miss: Xmas shopping at the nearby 20th Century for vintage costume jewelry for the girlfriend, sisters, sisters-in-law, nieces, mom, and women friends, then hitting Artu for a roast lamb and marinated-eggplant panino, one of my favorite sandwiches in the city.

Eff me. Eff our lethally incompetent national leadership. *sigh* RIP.

Unfortunately, our vicious, incompetent national leadership is what helped get us into this horrible situation in the first place.

On Prince St in the North End. Hopefully they remain, because they do a mean eggplant parm on top of a chicken parm.
