New water in Public Garden Lagoon

Damaskin snapped the refreshed Public Garden Lagoon, filled with fresh water after it was drained and its bottom scraped because it had turned into a duck-killing toxic pool, without the microbe-killing oxygen from Covid-19-halted Swan Boat paddling. No ducks so far, he reports.

"Boston Garden" shouldn't be there, either.

So what gets done to prevent stagnant water from creating this again?

Are they going to put an air hose or something in the pond to add oxygen or is it too late in the season for the same sort of buildup to happen?

How hard or expensive is it to run a few aerators in the bottom of the pond? It's mind boggling that 12 year olds with aquariums in their room are deploying better technology than what's been done here so far.

When it was drained you could still see the hoses snaking out from the swan boat dock but the pump has long since (>10 years) been removed. I'd heard that they'd planned to replace the system while it was drained but as far as I could tell they didn't. There's nothing to stop them from doing it anyway now that the lagoon is filled again.

There are also solar-powered drone aerators for ponds which can loop around the lagoon like a Roomba. Get some local artists to jazz them up (swan drones, anyone?) and you have a useful and interesting addition to the scenery.

Until someone steals them.

If the police can track a stolen iPhone they can track a fancy fountain Roomba thingy.
