Boston re-opening four indoor pools

BCYF will re-open the Curtis Hall Pool in Jamaica Plain, the Draper Pool in West Roxbury, the Flaherty Pool in Roslindale and the Mason Pool in Dorchester on Wednesday.

BCYF Draper Pool, Flaherty Pool and Mason Pool will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The BCYF Curtis Hall Community Center pool will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. As of now, pools will offer only lap swim to the public. Additional aquatics programming will be added as it's finalized.

Because of Covid-19, there are some new rules, including the need to register in advance for a time slot - no walk-ins allowed - and pool capacity has been reduced to one swimmer per lane for lap swimming and 10% of normal capacity for youth programming.

People will be asked several Covid-19 questions when they register and again when they show up for their swim. Also, put your swimsuit on at home - locker rooms and changing areas will be closed - and bring a face mask, because it's required when you're not in the water.

Comments

There are seniors that use these pools that do not have Internet access or who actually would know how to use the registration process, especially the need to drill down through a couple of web levels.

Hopefully they will have some plan to address that.
