I heard some loud ones on the Dorchester/Mattapan line last week. Nothing like the run up to this 4th of July though. That was just brutal.

That was one hell of a run up to July 4th. In Dorchester, unlike past years, it started about a week before Memorial Day and continued unabated until sometime in August.

Yeah same in Chelsea.. people were shooting fireworks off this weekend. Seems like someone got a supply again.

I was like "come on guys its September"

I noticed it here in East Boston too. Not as incessant as in the summer, but still very late at night. I must get to the bottom of why the new normal with fireworks is to set them off so late at night. Always after 11 PM, and back in the summer the high point was always from 1 AM to 4 AM. What gives with this?

It's pretty clear that they set them off so late at night, so as to be as annoying as possible. Assholes gotta asshole...

Forget which night(s), but heard some over the past week here, too.

What does the "CASE RESOLVED" mean posted on 311 next to the complaint?

It means nothing has been done nor will anything be done in the future.

until the night before BPS reopens. My 7-year-old was already having trouble sleeping because she's nervous about what school is going to be like without, y'know, going to the actual school. The fireworks (and ensuing screams, and her diving into bed with us) were a cherry on top of the shit sundae that has been this miserable year.

Also the fireworks went on for an hour, all from the same location. I see BPD couldn't even be bothered to send out a car?

They're merely explosives.

Rather dangerous explosives, to boot!

Back in the summer of 1976, I worked at a Jewelry production factory down in Attleboro, MA, called Swank. One day, a huge explosion was heard throughout the building. It turned out that somebody had tossed an M-80 into a trash barrel. It's a good thing nobody was in the vicinity at the time. Whew!
