Police say two drove through Washington-Beech in Roslindale with a loaded gun

Boston Police report arresting two men drove out of the Washington-Beech complex in Roslindale with a gun loaded with ten bullets last night.

Police say officers on patrol at the complex began following the Ford Fusion as it left Mercedes View because it appeared to have excessively dark window tinting. As the driver exited onto Washington Street and headed towards West Roxbury Parkway, police say, one of the officers checked its plate numbers and learned the owner of the car didn't have a valid driver's license.

The driver, possibly realizing he was being followed, then turned into the Burger King/CVS lot just before the parkway, police say.

Offices approached the vehicle and were able to ascertain that the vehicle was occupied by two Hispanic males, a driver and a front passenger. Officers confirmed the identity of the operator as the owner of the vehicle who did not possess a license. Both the operator and the passenger were removed from the vehicle. Within the passenger’s compartment of the vehicle, officers located a loose panel on the dashboard which led to the recovery of a black Glock 26 Gen4 9mm firearm with an obliterated serial number loaded with ten rounds of live ammunition. The firearm, which was concealed within a sock, was secured and officers additionally recovered a ski mask from the backseat of the vehicle.

Braulio Castillo, 21, of Jamaica Plain and the driver, and Angel Class, 21, of Hyde Park, were charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, police say, adding Castillo was also charged with driving without a license.

This is the latest gun-related incident in that stretch of Washington street in recent months. On Nov. 10, shots were fired at Beech and Grandview streets; on Sept. 21, a man was shot at Washington and Haydn streets; on July 31, a man was shot in the Nick's parking lot on Washington Street; on July 13, a 14-year-old was charged with possession of a loaded gun at Washington-Beech.
