Around 2 p.m. on Lincoln Street in Newton Highlands, WHDH reports. NBC Boston reports he had a knife and that "multiple attempts" to subdue him failed.
Police should automatically have to prove in court that this was necessary anytime there are multiple armed officers and they shoot anyone who isn't armed (with any type of gun). They are trained and armed, they should be able to arrest someone who can't shoot them back.
This use of force was completely unnecessary. This man had behavioral issues and his death could have been avoided if the appropriate people were brought in to subdue him.
