On eve of ascension to DC, Walsh allows how review of suspended new police commissioner might have been better

WBUR reports Boston will pay for a review of just what happened between Dennis White and his wife back in 1999, quotes the soon-to-be-former hizzonah as saying his vetting "admittedly should have been more thorough."

Sure, do a review. The real issue remains BPD (and other departments) don't face serious punishment when they act out line. The bar to dismiss an officer should be very low. If the problem officers can't stay on the force they'd be a less need for extensive vetting of those being promoted.

Unions and employee protections are important... Except for people with guns and the ability to make arrests.

Police shouldn’t be able to have a Union to ensure their rights as employees like every other public sector agency?
