Cambridge teens journey to Mattapan with loaded guns, fire them on a side street, police say

Boston Police report officers responding to a call about gunfire on Meadowbank Road in Mattapan around 11:55 p.m. on Sunday spotted "two males walking away from the scene at a fast pace with their hands concealed."

On a pat frisk for officer safety, police say, officers found one of the two - just 15 - wearing a shoulder holster with "a loaded 9mm Poly 80 handgun" in it. The other teen - 17 - had "a loaded .22 caliber Deringer pistol" in his pants pocket. Police say a spent shell casing was found in the 15-year-old's jacket pocket during booking.

Police report no victims and no damage to nearby homes or vehicles.

The two, not identified because of their age, were charged with being delinquent for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say.
