Cases were on a steady decline, and then Baker decided to increase capacity for restaurants, gyms etc. Massachusetts has been trending the wrong way ever since and cases are up 10% from last week, the number of towns in the proverbial red are rapidly increasing, and now we are moving to a Phase 4 opening.

Baker continues to lead us with a tepid worst-of-both worlds approach. This is a spike the ball on the 20 yard line moment and we’re in danger of Covid or one of its newer variants taking possession of the ball and scoring on us again (see: Europe in third lockdown).

I understand vaccination can only happen as fast as supply allows, but this Phase 4 BS while trending upward and rationed vaccination supply is irresponsible.

Hospital rates are trending down and a majority of new infections are happening to people who are younger and at much less risk of serious complications.

Death rates are declining which is probably linked to the fact the elderly are mostly vaccinated at this point. (At least those who want to be.)

I don't know if Baker is right or wrong to change the regulations although it's obvious a large percentage of population is ignoring most of the directives anyway.

I'll keep wearing a mask correctly and not going to gatherings until I'm vaccinated.

I'm glad they are opening things up, this is how it is supposed to work once the old people get their shots. If you still are afraid, just stay home.
Would like to see them turn the outdoor mask mandate into an "Advisory"? It is completely ridiculous.

Is what matters. Its sounds like a scary number, but the overall positivity rate in Boston over the past 14 days is 1.11%.

I understand some people like yourself will never be satisfied with the numbers. And that's oaky, but some of us would like to return to normal. 1.11% is a fantastic number.

I'll continue to wear a mask, but will start to be more social as i become vaccinated. No one is forcing you to leave your dungeon. Stay there as long as you'd like!

One time Magoo went to the YMCA. After witnessing the flabby old nakedness in the locker room and steam room Magoo has not been back. Maybe Magoo is just bashful but Magoo doesn’t understand how people can strut their nakedness so easily. Magoo probably would not have made a good Greek or Roman. But then again if Magoo was a Greek or Roman Magoo probably would have been exposed to those environs early on and Magoo would not think twice about flabby old nakedness. Magoo isn’t saying that Magoo is or isnt old and/or flabby or that Magoo has anything against it. Just that Magoo was surprised to see it. Divert eyes. Magoo.

Some stereotypes are true. Old men with no clothes on hanging out in locker rooms all day for no reason is one of them. No one under the age of 70 does this. Put your clothes on and get out. You are weird and in the way.

How about an all-male steam room experience with the Red Sox?

I'd pay, er, donate.

Also if you look at the charts on the New York Times you will see that we are doing ever-increasing numbers of tests and maintaining virtually the same numbers of daily cases.
