Good article, but for the love of god, why do so many bloggers think it's a good idea to have white text on a pitch-black background? I feel like my eyes are on fire after reading that.

Light-colored text on a dark background, that is. If you use Firefox, install the bookmarklet from the preceding link or download the No Color add-on. (I think there's a similar solution for IE... Google it, I guess)

He mentioned "the unhealthiness of eating from a sort-of communal trough" ... but the self-serve cafeteria area at Whole Foods in Fresh Pond looks exactly the same as this, except with more fruits and veggies. (Probably other Whole Foods, too, but that's the only one I've eaten at.)
