Her one saving grace: She wasn't tall enough to storrow

Woman jogging on Storrow Drive

A roving UHub videographer forwarded this video of a woman jogging down Storrow Drive by BU today, because, why, the Paul Dudley White Path that literally runs right next to the road wasn't good enough for her?

Not only is that insane, but it's even the wrong way. You walk on a road with no sidewalk in the OPPOSITE direction to traffic so you stand ANY chance of bailing to the curb if the driver is going to hit you.

Running with traffic is like running with the bulls. Sure, some people survive it...some don't.

In fact, I do not know what assuredly world-changing movie that's a reference to. Oh, that one.

That’s right up there with taking a bike down the turnpike.

Saw that exact thing a few years ago and was glad I didn’t see any reported accidents afterwards.

She's clearly running on the curb, and she's on the section where a quiet back alley behind BU merges onto Storrow. Probably realized she was entering a limited access road shortly after this was taken and exited. So don't worry, she wasn't running in the middle of the 40 mph superhighway known as Storrow Drive.

I changed "numbnuts" to "woman," although she's not jogging on the curb, she's jogging on the pavement next to the curb.

I don’t see what the big deal is. There’s plenty
of width there, and nobody even honked let alone swerved.

Is that she was looking for a way to the bike path and didn’t realize there were no crossings. I once had a similar experience…luckily I turned back.

I see people new to the area standing under the BU bridge trying to cross the road. Sometimes they have made it to the median and are really stuck.

I don't understand this stupidity since you can see the footbridge which is only a couple hundred feet away. But yet, there's always a few who think they can cross Storrow like one would cross a residential city street.

Long ago, in the 1970s and maybe even early 80s, the Paul Dudley White bike path ended at the BU bridge. There was a painted crosswalk and a gap in the Storrow Drive median, where pedestrians walked across the road to the stairway leading up to the BU bridge. When the bike path was extended west towards Allston, the crosswalk and median gap were removed.

There's been some guy harassing people on the esplanade lately. Maybe she's just fed up.

She's simply using the park as James and Helen Storrow (and God) intended: as a park.

It's not uncommon to see hundreds of cars parked on Storrow. /S

Seems they are always blocking the roads in protest of the beginning and end of the workday!

Sucks about the Charles river ecosystem then.

Humans aren’t part of the ecosystem?
