Man charged with daylight shooting in Downtown Crossing in May

Boston Police report arresting Carlos Eloy Thomas, 19, of Dorchester, on charges he fired at a group of men standing in the plaza at Washington and Franklin streets around 1:45 p.m. on May 21, sending one of them to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

Thomas was arrested Thursday morning in Dorchester on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say.

So it is assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. (which is a more serious charge than aggravated assault)

Seems like there should be 342* additional charges of assault (or threatening or endangering or whatever) for every by-stander (including inside buildings) within 100 yards.

* 342 is a made up number, maybe its less due to covid, but shooting in Downtown Crossing on a Friday afternoon is so very extra stupid.
