Man charged for rifles, magazines and loaded handgun found in room at W Hotel

Boston Police report arresting a Newton man on a variety of gun charges after detectives found "an AM-15 rifle with a mounted scope," an old Yugoslavian rifle, a loaded .45 caliber Remington 1911 R1 handgun, two large-capacity magazines and several rounds of ammunition inside a room at the W Hotel on Stuart Street last Thursday night.

Police say that BPD detectives teamed up with the DEA and ATF to find Thomas Morse, 37, of Newton, which they did at Commercial and Hanover streets in the North End yesterday afternoon.

Morse now faces charges of possession of a large-capacity firearm (two counts), possession of a large-capacity feeding device (two counts), carrying a loaded firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.

Possession of Large Capacity Firearm (2 Counts), Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device (2 Counts), Carrying a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

Google street view shows a few opened on the Stuart St facade. They're awning style and open about 3" or 4". Enough to allow a bit of one's hand to reach out.
