A parched Jamaica Plain gets another watering hole back

Costello's on Centre Street reopens at 4 p.m. on Monday. Like every other bar in the state, they closed in 2020 because of Covid-19. Unlike every other bar in the state, though, they then stayed closed for renovations and to add four apartments on two new floors.

Kitchen is still under construction, swing on by for a drink and help us get back on our feet!

I am so happy about this getting to the "it's really happening" phase of the refurb. While I know their intention was always to reopen after the construction above was finished, I started getting worried as the months turned into years.

It's great to have another option back on the list of places in JP to get good bar food and a laid-back, social atmosphere without getting too spendy. I hope the pretzel dogs return, as nobody in JP has taken up making them in the interim.
