Tennessee man came to Boston loaded for bear, but was promptly arrested, police say

A lot of guns

That's a lot of guns.

Boston Police report arresting a Tennessee man they say stepped off a bus at South Station yesterday afternoon weighted down with 11 handguns, 16 magazines and several boxes of ammunition, which they say he was planning to sell in the Boston area to people with no legal right to own a gun.

Police say John Pierre, 25, of the unincorporated hamlet of Lutts, TN, got off a bus around 2:25 p.m., struggling a bit to balance his heavy backpack as he walked towards the escalator down to street level: "Pierre walked toward the escalator while alternating the bag between both hands to distribute the weight of the bag."

But that would soon prove to be the least of his problems: Police and ATF agents were waiting for him at the bottom of the escalator, where they relieved him of his backpack and arrested him on several counts, police say, adding both the BPD and State Police gang units were also involved in the "lengthy investigation" that led authorities to await Pierre.

Pierre was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday - at which he could be ordered held without bail even longer - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. The DA's office says he faces He faces 24 counts, of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of large-capacity magazines.

Innocent, etc.

Going to have a corruption of Jay Z's lyrics in my head for the rest of the day.

At least when he is put away in Shirtucky for a few years, based on the area's politics, it will almost feel like home for him.

He will be going to Wyatt detention center in Central falls ri, incase you would like to visit him. But the feds are getting this case because they will investigate more and the state will only investigate the boston area. Also 11 guns gets him no longer than 5 years in the feds because it doesn't matter how many guns you get caught with they only charge with one no matter what. I'm not proud of the things that I've done in the past, but i am talking from experience.

I know of at least two federal pre-trial detainees being held at the Plymouth County jail (granted, neither on gun charges, though).

I'm guessing there aren't a lot of job prospects in the area.

I have to wonder if someone saw him with such heavy packs and reported him, even though the cops were already waiting for him.

No. Someone tipped the police off that he was coming and what he was carrying, there were close to 4 dozen plain clothed police officers waiting for him in the station and as soon as he hit the second floor he was swarmed by over a dozen of said officers. They knew exactly what he was carrying make no mistake as they grabbed that bag ASAP
