Scientists say interviewer told them he was with the Globe, not with the cancer-stick maker the Globe is running paid content for

CommonWealth Magazine reports somebody writing paid filler content to as part of Philip Morris's attempt to push a new form of products that are heated rather then lit told scientists he was working for the Globe, not Philip Morris, and that they never would have agreed to participate in shilling for a tobacco company.

These scientists gave wrong answers because they were asked wrong questions. It's one thing to say that vaping is better than smoking in academic conferences and public health policy papers, but it does look bad when your quote appears in a paid content section of the Globe.

This is not a matter of "better" but "less bad".

Nicotine addiction leads to harmful acts in all directions. Phillip Morris knows that and does all it can to disguise the fact. There’s money to be made in addiction.

It's "better" to be fed into head first than feet first.

I would like to hear a representative from the Globe explain how "paid content" is not "advertising", preferably at night so I can have a few beers and some popcorn while doing so.
