Group raises funds to brighten Allston park wall

Proposed painted wall at Ringer Park

Arts District Boston is raising funds to redo a decaying wall at the tennis and basketball courts at Ringer Park in Boston with a mural by local artist Jill Rosati. If the group raises $2,000, Allston Village Main Streets will kick in the remaining $2,000 needed for the project.

That lady was hawking her art show in the old Cheap Chic yesterday. I walked in and checked it out. She makes some good stuff.

It would cool if they included a little morbid history as to why people refer to Ringer Park as Blood Park.

Can you include the morbid history?

Why would people want to know about a murder that happened 40 years ago? Is it in any way salient to the story? Or does this story just not satisfy your bloodlust?

In a natural space, less is more. With all due respect to the artist, a new coat of forest green paint would let the wall blend in to the hill.

Magoo will paint a Magoo-mural for $500. Magoo.

Too jarring. Better suited indoors, at a preschool maybe, where they say young children appreciate primary colors. Don’t know if that’s true.
This eclipses nature.

I guess it depends on the population around there. Are there a lot of children who use the park? If not I'd want the Forest Green as well.

It's already "eclipsing nature". Unless you've seen trees with backboards and dangling nets...
