It's sad that a restaurant that has been around for a long time can find itself out of business "like that" if the landlord decides he wants more money.

That’s too bad, although I haven’t seen that in any news reports.

A source who spoke with the restaurant's owner told Jamaica Plain News that their lease was not renewed. The owners said there was no plan to move the restaurant to another location.

I suppose this could mean something different, but I read it as, "The landlord jacked the rent way up, so we can't afford to stay."

Along time? 9 years, and it wasn’t that great. There aren’t that many Cubans in JP anymore. 70s/80s tons of Cubans and Puerto Ricans. Now, ur lucky to find a pair in JP.

More empty neglected commercial space. Did they fill the long empty Rent a Center space? What about the decaying Blessed Sacrament?

business. I have to say I was nervous for them from day one, as there were already two established Cuban restaurants just a few blocks away. When the urge strikes me, I usually end up at El Oriental de Cuba, which I've been back to since the end of lockdown and found to be still great.

I loved this place. I hope the owners and employees land on their feet.

Nooooo! I'm so sad. That was the only place in Boston where the food tasted like home.
