We're going to read about people heading to the US Open winding up in Needham, aren't we?

Sign by a parkway rotary

Gretchen Van Ness took a photo of one of the US Open signs that have sprouted along all the parkways and rotaries that surround the Country Club of late - showing one of the problems of holding an event that attracts tens of thousands of people to a relatively remote area full of rotaries and other oddball intersections.

Sure, you can figure the sign out eventually - go through the rotary as if you could go straight, but it will take someone unused to our unique byways a few seconds to figure that out, and by that time you're on some road that eventually gets you to the radio towers out by 128 (sorry, 95), or you've slowed down and you've just been rear ended by an impatient Masshole.

So, there are some parking lots over by the radio towers off Wells ave I think, so maybe thats the intention?

Wish there was a traffic webcam to watch the madness from the comfort of my own home with some popcorn and beer…

You could advertise "DIRECTIONS $20" and make a few hundred bucks easy

From their song, They Came to Boston

Rented a car to see the sites but they found the Hub confusing,
Looked for the Swan Boats in Mattapan, well I find that real amusing

The sign is pretty clear to me: take the third exit. With any luck there's another sign at the exit itself.

Those rotaries have abysmal signage (or lack thereof) under normal conditions. Holy Name has tiny blade signs for Centre St, and nothing for the Parkway: https://goo.gl/maps/3z3tLiptEo3vpqpr6

Putterham has zero. The microscopic signs for the Faulkner Hospital and Larz Anderson Park don't count. https://goo.gl/maps/tFt6gk4nbnindx9d7

The West Roxbury/VFW Parkway rotary has one of those greened out US 1 signs https://goo.gl/maps/izpfKgyNe6xzDNYTA , and nothing for the other direction of the VFW: https://goo.gl/maps/yNkeBfh85HeyWHCj7 West Roxbury Parkway had a sign with some town names but no road name, and it got knocked over around 2020. Is it back yet? https://goo.gl/maps/YWYff6EB5s7ereS36

As for the Hammond/Hammond/Newton/LaGrange rotary, there are plenty of signs and paint to tell you the right lane must turn right, but it's your problem to know what road you're turning right onto. https://goo.gl/maps/PVSCsThoybWRP9zq5

But the lack of signage begins on Neponset River, Turtle Pond and Enneking....

I cannot believe Brookline closed Lee and Clyde and Newton St. and created a detour through Boston on Centre St. I cannot believe Brookline residents didn’t want visitors parking in front of their house and so Brookline sent all those drivers to Boston, to park. Detour traffic through your own town! Create parking in your own town!

People who live in Brookline chose to live there because they think they are above the rest of us and because they are at best latent racists.

... the Brookline progressive resident says, I have a Black Lives Matter sign! I only moved to a town with 10% Black and Latino population for the good schools, not to avoid my kids having black or Latino friends and classmates! Also I love the tree lined streets so we can't possible build any more housing here.

I certainly won't vote for Chris Dempsey. He appears to be a limousine liberal, only probably with a RadWagon. Tommy Vitolo is also a total fraud of a progressive.

Why is Tommy Vitolo a fraud?

He's an avid defender of Brookline's NIMBY housing policies and obviously is very comfortable driving into Boston to talk about progressive stuff before retreating back to his whites and Asians only pocket of upper-middle class comfort. He doesn't walk the walk and I'm sure will cash out at some point to be a progressive sock puppet for some philanthropic organization while tweeting solemn stuff about George Floyd or whatever he needs to to keep his cred.

The sign is a little confusing, but there is probably an explanation for it here:

and if not, it must be explained here, because everything is:
