Eversource reports the power died in Oak Square around 7:45 p.m. As of 10:25 p.m. there are more than 1,800 homes and businesses without power. Residents report it came back just after 10:35.
Eversource emphasized that last Sunday's power failure in Dorchester was due to "damaged equipment". What they didn't say is what caused the manhole fire that damaged the equipment. I don't think we're going to get honest answers from Eversource or the T.
I'm afraid it's my fault. A connector blew on a pole across the street from me on Parsons St. The pole is next to the commuter rail/turnpike overpass. Odd side of Parsons lost power up to Fanuel St. The even side had power except for the last two houses, mine and next door. Up Brooksdale and Riverview everyone had power. Strange that power went out around Oak Square. Thought the outage was more localized.

Any word from Eversource about why?
Outages have been occurring more frequently than this summer. Has Eversource said anything about why so many? Are they trying to follow the T's lead?

It makes you think...
Is there such a thing as a weekly rolling blackout?
