Can bloggers make a difference in Newton?

Blogger Chuck Tanowitz issues a call to action: He's calling on folks to do a little man-in-the-street interviewing to see how Newton residents really feel about the progress at Newton North High School, following City Hall's tut-tutting over Tab and blog coverage of the work.

Most Newton residents are
Most Newton residents are just concerned with making sure any section eight housing isn't built near them, that they can drive their SUVs and that any donations or extra money go into large useless projects. Having gone to public school in Newton, I can say that it is a shame the way they piss away money and all those old people would rather die slowly in their houses then pay taxes for other people's kids to go to school. This isn't multiple choice people - you think I want to pay for some fat unemployed bloggers to have health insurance because they can't get a real job? Nooooooooooooo. I still have to though, that's democracy.
At leasr in Newton we didn't have alot of 25 year old grand mothers...well maybe the upper falls, but then again, who else is going to work at the Purity Supreme?

A self-important blogger like Tanowitz coming up to someone like me while I'm minding my own business to ask how I feel about NNHS so they could blog about my response?

No, this isn't about self importance. In fact, I would much rather this be a community project.
The impression by the mayor and his spokesman is that this is a non issue and that the people are well enough informed thanks to the city'simages and information. I simply would like to know if that is true. Conducting a survey on the street is something that happens all the time in our city. Of you prefer not to participate then a simple "no thanks" is enough.
