Christian nurse who claims Covid-19 vaccines suck sues Boston Medical Center for firing her after she refused to get vaccinated
A nurse who self-identifies as Christian today sued Boston Medical Center for firing her in October, 2021 for refusing to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
In her rejected request for a medical exemption, filed along with her lawsuit today in US District Court in Boston, Maureen McCarthy says her body is God's temple and not to be defiled with vaccines:
I believe that receiving this vaccine would be a violation of conscience as a Christian who believes in the Bible, specifically the King James version. I feel that this vaccine would violate the principles laid out in God’s word, I believe my body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. It is a God given responsibility and requirement for me to protect the physical and spiritual integrity of my body (Rev 14:9-11, 19:20).
McCarthy, formerly a staff nurse at BMC who now lives in Texas, says she does not belong to any denomination, let alone one that has called on followers to get vaccinated.
Besides, her complaint continues, she'd already contracted Covid-19, so vaccines would do her no good, even if the vaccines worked, which they don't, as evidenced by all the public figures who publicly got vaccinated, then contracted the virus anyway.
The alleged lack of efficacy, using the same public figures and statements, was cited by another Boston Medical Center nurse and a Children's Hospital EEG technician. All three are represented by Amherst attorney Peter Vickery - who also represents three Massachusetts state workers with similar suits.
McCarthy is seeking back pay, punitive and "compensatory and consequential damages" and attorney's fees.

King James, of course
Love these people who think the King James translation came straight from Gd's mouth. Who needs those pesky Hebrew, Aramaic, etc. originals.
As my grandmother used to say
If the King James version was good enough for Jesus Christ, it's good enough for me.
Christ on a cracker
She's a cracker
So she's never gotten any
So she's never gotten any vaccines? And BMC let her work in a patient-facing role? Or did her sincerely-held belief kick in right after she got all the other vaccines required for her job?
You'd be surprised
I remember a decade or so ago the union representing nurses at the Brigham were fighting mandated influenza vaccinations. Where we are now with Covid, it's kind of the same thing.
As for the measles and the like, by the time you are an adult employers don't ask for proof of said vaccinations. It would be interesting as part of discovery to see if she ever got vaccinated as an adult.
MGH used to ask
I needed to list what I'd had. They also did a titer for measles, since the boosters for people vaccinated in the first years were not always received.
I picked up HepB while I was there, as well as flu shots.
Note that I was a researcher - I had no contact with patients.
That's not true
I had to have proof of MMR and a bunch of other vaccines to work at a Boston hospital and I'm betting it's not the only hospital that does this.
...take your God's temple body and go get another job in another field, you ignorant jackass.
You don't see many Hasidic folks working for Smithfield.
There's a ton in nursing that has nothing to do with vaccinations.
I suppose if member of Hasidim worked for Smithfield, they could work in the turkey division.
You could infect people near you even if you weren't direct patient contact.
As could you, as could I
Yet there was never a general mandate for the entire population.
The general population...
...doesn't work in patient care.
That was an astounding leap even for you.
Swirly moved the goalposts
I just took the shot with the moved goalposts.
The Holy Spirit
does not appear in the King James Version of the Bible. The Third Person of the Trinity (a concept which also doesn't appear in the KJV, or any other V, but never mind) is therein always referred to as the Holy Ghost, which is much more awe-inspiring. This woman is clearly a revisionist. Probably a closet Unitarian.

Amazingly vaccines do protect the integrity of human bodies. When's the last time you heard about a polio outbreak?
