Finally: Harvard Square to get soft-serve ice cream in 'grammable fish-shaped waffle cones

The Harvard Crimson reports on the imminent opening of a Harvard Square outlet of a New York ice-cream chain that sells ice cream in fish-shaped waffle cones aimed specifically at the sort of discriminating customers who want to instantly post photos of themselves with their cones on Instagram.

Enough said. There really is no Harvard Square anymore. Ask Dickson Brothers, The Tasty, The Wursthaus, Elsie's, World's Only Curious George Store and too many other one of a kind places to mention.

Minh Trinh ’15, who visited Taiyaki NYC on Sunday with Nga H. Nguy ’15-’16, said the ice cream is “definitely better” than Harvard’s dining hall food.

"known as creemes in parts of New England" is the most New York thing ever.

Vermont, and, yeah, that is something a New Yorker making the trip up to Killington or Stowe would remember, even if nobody in this part of New England would ever say it

...which, to you people, is Vermont, I guess.

Fish-shaped waffle cones are one thing. Show us you have some guts and start offering ice cream in fish-flavored waffle cones.

Yes a lot of the old Harvard Square is gone, but seriously some of the places were not as good as you thought. Do you want to cry over the Uno s too?

It is NYC based but doesn’t mean much. Lots of these types of places have popped up in areas with a large Asian population - similar concepts all over California.

The ice cream is ok - Lizzie’s over on church is spmuch much better.

Also for the record, wurstthaus was mediocre, and Border cafe was a chain. Elsie’s was cheap but service sucked and food quality was inconsistent. Did I enjoy them as a 15 yr old? Sure. Maybe not so much at 2@.

So if you want something gimmicky, have your $8 come with red bean paste and swirl - tastes good warm. Otherwise, shut up gramps.

What I hate most about this chain is that they got my hopes up for getting taiyaki around here, but only ever have the ice cream shit. I want warm fish waffles with tasty fillings!
