Man charged with shooting brother in the head in 2021 Mattapan property dispute

A Mattapan man was arraigned this week on charges that include armed assault with intent to murder for allegedly shooting his brother in the head on May 14, 2021 in a dispute over the sale of the family's home on Westmore Road in Mattapan, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

On Monday, a judge in Dorchester Municipal Court ordered Trevor Lawrence, 32, held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Thursday.

According to the DA's office, Trevor Lawrence, 32, and his brother got into a disagreement over the sale of the family home:

Detectives interviewed the victim, who told them that he and his brother, Trevor Lawrence, got into a disagreement regarding the sale of the family home. The victim said he attempted to take photographs of the home’s second floor when Lawrence produced a gun and shot him in the head. ...

Members of the Boston police drug control unit apprehended Lawrence while conducting an investigation on Saturday at Balsam and Callender streets in Dorchester.

In addition to the attempted-murder charge, Lawrence was also arraigned for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, the DA's office reports.

Innocent, etc.

I've never heard of drug problems in that neighborhood.

What with the District B-3 station literally just down the hill from that location; Why were Drug Control Unit personnel the first Officers to respond? Was the Homicide unit busy somewhere else?
