Nips on a new Red Line train

Billyinboston spotted this flock of pints on what is now a properly broken-in new Red Line car yesterday.

They are pints.

Post changed, although the basic point remains.

Well, except that the proposed ban would not affect them, although the licensing board has generally frowned on new licenses for anything less than the larger bottles.

But shaped as pints. A pint is a unit of measurement and those don’t fit a pint of liquid.

You get drunk quicker and you get drunker when you chug a bigger bottle. Not sure that banning the nips is a good thing.

A bunch of McGillicuddy and not a *single* mentholmint? That just screams south shore 23 year old behavior.

To be more specific.

They'd be picked up by now if they were each worth a nickel!

But not on the T where city ordinances are not enforceable..

So the Councilor wants low income alcoholics who buy nips because they can’t afford the bigger bottles that higher income alcoholics can, be put in danger of delirium tremens and death?

The high income drinkers might possibly be more likely not to litter but on a whole, I think the affluent create more trash we pay to have hauled to the landfills than the poor.

I see way more cigarette butts littering Boston’s streets than nip bottles, dog poop, etc.
If the aim is truly to reduce litter along with fire hazards, toxic fumes and such, crack down on obnoxious smokers first, Councilor.

I think they're quarter pints as opposed to a half pint or full pint.

For the half pint ones, maybe they could add some Safetypup cartoons asking people not to litter their booze bottles.

Why no Fiyah Bawl?!
C'mon! More of these migrating into local storm drains and waterways than McGillicuddy's. Maine represent!

Well, he directs production of Fireball, too.

Goldschläger is for elitists.
