Little Jack Horner used to be a joke/ head shop on Tremont Street across from the Boston common. The type of place that sold rolling papers by the foot. They went out of business in the late 80`s when the state started cracking down head shops. PVC in Quincy and Headlinesin Brockton were some of the more famous ones at that time that were either driven to New Hampshire or out of business all together when they couldn`t make it as legit record stores or joke shops.
I used to go to Jack Horners` as a kid to get rubber poop and cigarette explosives... that type of stuff. Should make them an offer on that sign.
btw- I wonder how that leg of Dot Ave will change when they reopen the stretch near the post office and regain direct access to DT Boston. Someone posted about future development possibilities of the Gillette headquartes which will be greatly enhanced by that.
Is that a different place than Jack's Joke Shop? My boss was talking about the place and said he used to take his son there to get similar items...but his son is 13 or 14 now, so it would have only been a few years ago.
... with all the little unpublicized features they just happen to throw in, and that I don't notice until I stumble across them. For instance, try typing this into it:

Wasn't Jack's Joke Shop in Waltham?
It was THE place to get Nixon masks for Halloween.
Still open
Jack's Joke Shop is still very much in business, across from the Majestic Theatre in downtown Boston.
Doh!
Now it's going to bother me - what was the name of the place on Moody Street in Waltham?
Google is your friend
Ask Google to look up
"joke shop" Waltham MA
and you'll find it in the "Local results" list.
Touche!
Oh, sure, Google, yeah, I've heard of that. You recommend it? :-).
Google continues to amaze me...
