Soldiers Field Road truck driver scores a perfect 10

Take a look at this beauty. It's so rare to see a truck just completely destroyed like that, sending debris everywhere and creating one hell of a massive backup - the driver must have gotten up quite the head of steam. Plus, the driver gets credit for returning to the sport's origins and traditions - plowing a rental truck into the bridge as God intended.

Everyone knows Soldiers Field and Storrow are really the same highway.

Why do we keep posting links from fascist sites?

The only thing I post on Twitter anymore is "you should get off of Twitter" but if that's where the photos are, that's where the photos are.

Yeah I agree. I mean I know why Adam does.. its where alot of news is.

But when is the media going to stop elevating twitter? This quasi "we're leaving, but we're not" thing just get old. Get off the platform for good. Musk won't go away if people keep using their products.

It just shows how hard the 'addiction' level social media is...

Have you tried Bluesky? Really, it's worth it.

Neat to see that a box truck and a flatbed are basically the same if you smash the box into a bridge.

I always flatten the boxes before recycling so they take up less space.

Is this the latest into September we’ve had our First Storrowing of the season?

Has the image of a storrowed track been nominated for the new state flag?

And replace it with, "Rydden"

The driver just needs to argue they rented a flatbed truck, not a box truck, and the rental paperwork was wrong.

Geee willakers. That there reminds Magoo of the time Magoo used to have the delectable job of driving the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile. Said job was delectable ‘cause Magoo could eat all the wieners Magoo desired. Mmm mmm good. Anywho, Magoo got fired from said job because one day Magoo drove the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile right into a wall. Magoo was not paying attention while driving and hit the wall because Magoo was putting ketchup and mustard on Magoo’s wiener when Magoo was driving! ‘Tis ashame because Magoo really really liked said job. Magoo.

We can use it in some neighborhood virtually every month in parades. Just add railings and install a PA system.

.. bike lane yesterday having plowed down several plastic bollards.

No contents strewn across roadway, no can-opener effect on the top, not even on Storrow Drive. 7 at best.

The pommel horse guy from Worcester would have nailed it, though.

The reason there was no peeled-back roof was because the truck was so thoroughly, completely ripped to shreds by hitting the bridge at what I can only assume was the speed of at least Warp 3.

And true, no contents spilled all over the road, but the sheer destruction of the truck made up for that by spilling pieces of, well, the truck itself all over the road.

But deducted 1 point each for the missing required elements (can-opener effect, contents strewn about, Storrowing occurring on Storrow and not Storrow Extension).

If you're going too fast to get the can-opener effect then you don't deserve eine perfekte Zehn.

At least an 8

I swear, sometimes I think the East Germans are still communists. Don't they realize a democracy fought a civil war across the oean to insure that all vehicles, regardless of their political persuasion, or corporate affiliation are free to express themselves though the destruction method of their choice? I bet they'd give a Mercedes a 10. /satire

Maybe the lack of contents was because the move was already complete and the truck was empty, and maybe the Warp 3 speed was due to the moving afterparty.

In other words, yes, the driver had a load on board. It just wasn't that kind of load.

Ryder is missing out on a great opportunity for a tv ad campaign:

"Our trucks are so easy to fold flat, you don't need to be Bernadette Castro to do it!"

this one, in Virginia, has to be at least a fifteen.

When we get a truck bed _going over a bridge and then landing back on the truck on the other side_ we'll have beaten that. Meanwhile we're holding Virginia's beer.
