Washing machines can't remove the stain of guilt - or the blood
Boston Police report arresting a Quincy man on charges he tried to kill a Dorchester man by stabbing him in the stomach during a fight that started with the victim's sister - who is (was?) also the alleged stabber's girlfriend.
Police say officers initially did not arrest Rayshaun A. Moore, 23, of Quincy, after they responded to the stabbing at 71 Kingsdale St. shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sure, they'd spotted him coming out of the laundry room 30 feet from the victim with a bloodstain on his sweatshirt and blood on both hands. And sure, he was "breathing heavily and sweating." But:
Two witnesses then told officers on scene that this male had not done anything, so he was nor arrested but held for questioning.
Then officers found a bloodstained knife in the laundry room. And, police say, the victim's sister, whom they had initially found using a shirt to try to staunch the victim's bleeding, told officers:
[S]he and the suspect male from the laundry room (her boyfriend) had been involved in a fight and he had assaulted her by punching her in the face.
That was good enough for a charge of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon. Police later added an additional charge of assault with intent to murder.
Innocent, etc.
