Suburbanites charged with pulling knife, jumping on Boston cop

Boston Police report a Stoneham man wanted for punching out somebody at a State Street club early this morning pulled a knife on a cop who was trying to question him - and then his female pal jumped on the cop's back.

Jonathan Colleran, 29, will be arraigned Monday on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest. Jenna Ciampa, 27, will be arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on a police officer.

According to police, the two stormed out of the unnamed club around 1:45 a.m.

As the suspects walked onto Chatham Street towards State Street, the officer called to them and ordered them to stop. They refused and continued walking in the direction of State Street. When the officer caught up with the suspects, the male suspect became very violent, pushing the officer. A struggle ensued and while attempting to place suspect in custody, the male suspect produced a small folding pocket knife which was opened. As the officer struggled with the suspect, the female who was with the male suspect jumped on the officers back. A civilian observing what was happening rendered assistance to the officer. Both suspects were arrested and the knife recovered.
